Lighthouse Nancy

Lighthouse Nancy

Early in the morning coffee brewing
She says breakfast is ready

Car is loaded up and battened down
Rain clouds form on the horizon

He presses the pedal of
Romantic dreams

Driving up and down the east coast
Searching for lighthouses

Last time I checked there were
190 to visit in a VW Bus
Tricked out to look like home

Thought I could do this in 25 words or less
Maybe need to draw a map of my head

On a stormy sea what to look for
Up on the rocks sits
Lighthouse Nancy

Tells hubby hurry get in
189 more lighthouses

By dashboard lights
How romantic he thinks

Nancy lights up my life
When it’s on the rocks
