The greatest regret
I think the greatest regret
That I would have on my deathbed
Whenever I will be there
Is to have held on too tight
To not have enjoyed the quiet hours
With poetry, books and meditation
To not have learned to sit still
In this world which can be so unbearably loud
I am learning it now
I have anew begun the journey
After forgetting it for a time
And paying for it with exhaustion
This is the greatest advice I can give
If you want to learn one thing that will enrich your whole life
Then it is simply this:
Learn to let go
That I would have on my deathbed
Whenever I will be there
Is to have held on too tight
To not have enjoyed the quiet hours
With poetry, books and meditation
To not have learned to sit still
In this world which can be so unbearably loud
I am learning it now
I have anew begun the journey
After forgetting it for a time
And paying for it with exhaustion
This is the greatest advice I can give
If you want to learn one thing that will enrich your whole life
Then it is simply this:
Learn to let go
