Heaven is closed

Dear Reader
I have bad news
While you walk this earth
Heaven is closed

While you walk this earth you will sometimes have pain
Sometimes all your efforts will be in vain
Sometimes catastrophe will strike
Sometimes you will get what you don't like

For heaven on earth is not to be
For you are not god, and you're not always free
In other words, to put it bluntly
Perfection is what you will never see

But within this knowledge there is a freedom
I'm not saying not to do your best
But if perfection is your endgame
Then all you do will never be enough

But if your aim is to do good
Then you'll join a brother and sisterhood
Then you will walk in the steps of the wise
For who claims perfection is the one who lies

You will screw up, I can guarantuee
But that doesn't mean you can't be free
It doesn't mean you can't dance to a song
Of goodness, cause goodness is where you belong

So dear reader, I still have bad news
While you live heaven is still closed
But if goodness is what you do and adore

Then when you die it will open its door
