“Waiting”

Waiting with insomnia,
My companion to the end.
Eyes closed, heart in pieces;
Too many to mend.
Racing thoughts, going so slow;
Dreams lost, couldn’t find my way.
Gave up long ago-
In supplication I pray.
A path with purpose;
A burden too great.
Dejected and hopeless
I carry this weight.
Unable to understand,
Or misunderstood.
Intention’s become blurred;
Beginning to question what’s good.
Half truths and trusting smiles;
Love laced with complete lies.
Spreading stain of deception
Bleeding before my eyes.
Hate and betrayal behind a mask
Worn by many faces.
Walking with God, within faith;
Not far behind, death chases.
Pursued by wicked plans
Designed to destroy.
Only within Gods embrace
May we find a life to enjoy.
