John and Jane Doe

We don't know each other
how our lives intertwine
 a mystery to remain unsolved
and forever lost to time

He's John, and I'm Jane
Very ordinary common names
Met on an elevator ride
Standing close side by side

History has yet to be written
The present is what we're given
There could be a ring
on our fingers, and yet, tonight
this is not the question that lingers

Will he stay away
This is just for a night
A release to take the edge off
A release we both need tonight

Not all women are the same.
Emotions do not have to enter this game
If I am cold, all the better
You would never receive a Dear John letter

Codes are in place for a reason
To break it feels like treason
I know what you like
Imprinted it to memory
But open your mouth, and it is the end of we

Secret Lover’s was a song.
Did they know that we would come along
In hindsight, this should not be
Yet I crave you
Like I crave air to breath
