Three Exacting Words
Today the rains came heavy over the mountain
as a serendipitous gesture upon my dry existence
This evening’s stars in my Asian sky
have conjoined to say something
to this silent pining poet, heralding
The child of your best life has entered the birth canal
Now begins the dispensation of your best life
At first the process will be strident, but this is the way
of all beauty that are born into our world
Breaking free from the present gravity will
build strength, bring perspective and bestow jubilance
Contrivance and societal obligation has been
my only source of three exacting words
until today. Without a word of explanation
In this moment, now I know why that is
In one fucking sacred moment I will speak those words
all three, into the organic gaze of your thirsting eyes.
The stars have spoken, baby.
I love you.
