mirrors reflect,
everyone knows.
eyes, like mineshafts
lead from superficial
to a world
beneath the surface.
mirrors reflect,

but some recognize
mirrors have depth.
like some, mirrors reflect
but, they also absorb.
lovers see not surface
but the spirit inside.
