In The Space Between Us
It should be weightless,
A soft hum of absence...
Anything but what this moment became.
Breathe it in, slow,
It could be the last time
we stand face to face in the half-light.
Maybe in another world,
We’d return to the selves we were,
worn and familiar, from gentler days
when the only pain was ours to hold.
If heaven trembled, and hell bled through,
would you still reach for shadows over flame?
Have you left enough behind
to still be you, when it's done?
But no one stays untouched.
Forever is only a breath,
A word whispered when it hurts too much.
A soft hum of absence...
Anything but what this moment became.
Breathe it in, slow,
It could be the last time
we stand face to face in the half-light.
Maybe in another world,
We’d return to the selves we were,
worn and familiar, from gentler days
when the only pain was ours to hold.
If heaven trembled, and hell bled through,
would you still reach for shadows over flame?
Have you left enough behind
to still be you, when it's done?
But no one stays untouched.
Forever is only a breath,
A word whispered when it hurts too much.
