Love is a complex emotion. It means something different to many people. There are other feelings that can mirror love. Lust is one of them. It can give the feeling of being in love. It comes with a craving the most times doesn't exist in a platonic love.  

When it comes to relationships, I think its harder...nigh impossible to go back to a previous and less intimate level. There are certain lines that cannot be replaced once they are crossed. If the platonic love is important to you, I wouldn't let lust get in the way. Most times lust is only temporary and fleeting.

Good question. I had platonic frienships with men, but never platonic love.

I think when you love someone, lust gets involved and you want to fuck that person.
