Image for the poem Infestation

Infestation

Breathing through wires
I’m hormonally yours
Come spread your carbon wings
Encircle me with all your perverse ways
That I might taste your destruction
Become addicted to your seduction

Please fulfil my self hatred
Open old scars so I may see
An expansive version of me
Laid out before you
Primed to satisfy your appetite
Infect me long into the night

I’m an electric silhouette
Burnt into a neon skyline
Held systematically
Pressed up against chain-glass
Waiting for cracks to appear
That I may be broken from here

Later…
I’ll cascade into a simpler form
Cast aside like some viral waste
Washed down into lurid depths
There I’ll try to catch my breaths
Then I’ll realise
You are seeing me through my own eyes

All that is left …
… is self consumption

Could you help me with that assumption?
