Image for the poem Trigger you Awake

Trigger you Awake

Trigger you awake

Knee deep in dreams

The sheep are sleeping with you

Wrapped in a warm cocoon
I’m dreaming your dream

Jumping off a skyscraper

Saving a damsel in distress

Can’t kill you in your sleep

You’re floating and drifting in space

Bringing down the house at The Beacon Theater

You’re on my favorite show
You and Walter White are Breaking Bad

Watching the kids fly like birds

Time is suspended dreams are never ending

All the sudden the covers start kicking

Start tossing and turning and rolling over

Bladder starts screaming you have to Piss

Crawl back into and try to resume dreams

But it’s a futile exercise dreams are hiding

You mutter and curse to yourself
I was living in the bliss of sleep

God damn covers triggered you awake
