Image for the poem Dangle from my truth

Dangle from my truth

Walking down the plank

Gallows are built stand in the city square
Your guilt you say I’m innocent

Night before in the cold cell
Say I’m not guilty but who listens to
A peasant with no crown

Light peeks into my cell
Living in hell almost want this to be done

But I stand on my principle

Say I am not guilty of being

Crowd forms wants some entertainment

Walk up to the platform of Jesus

Look amongst the crowd
Faces stand out

People I was close with
Now they want me to hang with
Dithering thieves can’t hang between

I’m a free man dangling from my truth
