Unable To Open My Eyes
Behind closed doors lurks a different monster
Not the one that’s portrayed on every livestream
Playing off this charade that’s been getting over
Moving forward with the logistics of the scheme
Heartless in the belief of satisfying his shallow ego
We’re all human pawns on a maniacal chessboard
Plotting how to conquer and slay every single rival
Every attempt at peace will be maliciously ignored
Loyalty is rewarded while the insubordinate suffer
Transparent souls are met with an untimely demise
Brutal stench of death abominates a careless wind
Praying it's all a dream but unable to open my eyes

Your honesty in this piece is truly inspiring. I think we all have learned to show our best sides and hide our darkness. Yet poets need darkness to be able to write. I've written and posted some deeply personal pieces when I found my "fuck it, this is me" vibe. Having said that: I don't think anyone know or sees what's beneath the ink we share.

I've experienced this in the early 2000's
Had to kinda fall back cuz I was alienating too may loved ones.
