My Parasite

I became its home, since my first cry,
consuming me from within, day by day,
until it grew stronger than I ever was,
now I'm completely under its control.

Every breath, move and decision
I make is dictated by this soul-sucker,
devouring every ounce of life
I have left, hindering my efforts.

We’re lifelong roommates.
living together in a kennel.
I am born to sabotage myself,
I am my own parasite.
