Escape Me
Escape Me
How do you runaway from something
When you don’t know what you’re running from
Deep in me somewhere in a dark crevice
Is something that I can’t face for that face is me
Down in the basement of my soul
The lights are out and I don’t have a flashlight
Stumble back up the stairs of my mind
Pages fall off a calendar the leaves turn gold
The seasons change but nothings changed in me
Groundhog Day again with no peace for my being
So how do I run away from myself
When it’s me and no one else
How do you runaway from something
When you don’t know what you’re running from
Deep in me somewhere in a dark crevice
Is something that I can’t face for that face is me
Down in the basement of my soul
The lights are out and I don’t have a flashlight
Stumble back up the stairs of my mind
Pages fall off a calendar the leaves turn gold
The seasons change but nothings changed in me
Groundhog Day again with no peace for my being
So how do I run away from myself
When it’s me and no one else
