The Good, Obedient Girl

"Go in that position, baby."

"Yeah, just like that."

"That's a good little girl."

Diana's father spoke these words often, entangling her in a web of lies. Incest, sex, and so many horrible lies.

It's her fault. She didn't scream, so it doesn't count.

She took pity on him, and he took advantage of her empathy.

Both her parents in some way were pulling the strings.

To make her into mommy and daddy's perfect little girl.

Dare she might a single sound, they'd scream at her and take turns hitting her. Bruising not only her physical body but her soul.

She could scream and scream, but she knew it wouldn't make this fairytale stop. Right when she'd get to the love of her life, her father would start her over to the first level again. Fighting and fighting for happiness but now afraid.

That all she could ever be was the good, obedient girl.
