Sunburst: The Age of the Slaughtered Lamb

with a grind, than a halt
sunburst chariots falter
glistening in the shade
of harmony.

beholden and drastic
casualties of conflict
quivering jawline, darting eyes
from beneath a masquerade
spoken in phrases of peace

trumpets blare, bombs burst
indiglow clouds passing by
arsenic and old lace, no trace
to be left...just a frown that evades
the teardrop from a clown.

no quarter given, no resistance taken.
for bravery is our mission.
when the trumpet sounds, hooves
will shake the ground.

Author's Note
I have been writing a series of poems called The Age of the Slaughtered Lamb recently it began with an idea on another poetry sharing site (All poetry) and I wanted to introduce the dystopian concept to you here at Deep Poetry Underground...these poems read as to separate brevity but with  an intense sense tension is really the accented tone that I was attempting to I don't want to say sensationalize but make as graphic as possible...
I work in many different inks but right now it seems that there is an extra intense feeling of new beginnings in my writing...but would you call it a sensationalism or is it based on my own romantic ideas of dystopian fiction that allows the reader to follow the story
Blessings to you readers  Love, Shinobi
