The floorboards under the linoleum wept tears carried
away by the sump pump leaving scars on the veneer
listening to the echo screaming from the dark tooth
decay and the abscess chilling my incoherent mind
playing Misty Rainbow over her corpse parting parts
ferrying me to a silent place listening to the Diva
whispering out-of-tune voices haunting my dreams
stuck between pages of Mark Twain
