there’s no more big shops

hi Pau I miss Woolworths too it was downtown where they had beautiful fountains along with a lot other stores I miss surrounded by the big beautiful homes of the day with beautiful craftmanship now it is all derelict because of crime and homelessness the city tried to revive it with only minimal success I feel we will never see those days again..

Woolworths used to be my favorite store when we lived there. I can't believe they're gone! Really?!

closed down way back, like loads of shops in the centre of towns, when business parks and
shopping estates opened up on the fringes, making it easier for cars - since manoeuvring around all those pedestrian only areas in a car and all those one way streets is tricky, to say the least - so towns are left to supply the needs of the poor, the failures, as Thatcher called those over 40 who still caught the bus; hence the success of pound shops, everything for a quid    ..
