Parental Vampiric (Blue)
She scrubs furiously at my skin,
It’s bleeding and raw.
She scrubs harder.
It’s a hopeless endeavor,
I bleed from hollow veins.
A simmer among the flares,
I burn so red that I’m blue.
I want to sleep,
She screams into the hand I place over her mouth.
This wicked boy bleeds the ocean,
I wax and wane with the moon.
I burn so red I’m blue.
He digs his nails into my eyes,
He sinks his teeth into the meat of my arm.
I can taste my own flesh,
I burn so red it’s blue.
He spits out the flesh,
Gagging on my salty skin.
Spring died when my feet touched the earth,
Winter rages in encore.
They pick at my scabs to beckon back the blood,
But I bleed so red,
It’s blue.
It’s bleeding and raw.
She scrubs harder.
It’s a hopeless endeavor,
I bleed from hollow veins.
A simmer among the flares,
I burn so red that I’m blue.
I want to sleep,
She screams into the hand I place over her mouth.
This wicked boy bleeds the ocean,
I wax and wane with the moon.
I burn so red I’m blue.
He digs his nails into my eyes,
He sinks his teeth into the meat of my arm.
I can taste my own flesh,
I burn so red it’s blue.
He spits out the flesh,
Gagging on my salty skin.
Spring died when my feet touched the earth,
Winter rages in encore.
They pick at my scabs to beckon back the blood,
But I bleed so red,
It’s blue.
