Hypocrite
There’s something wrong with me,
Smudged and broken.
I lied to her,
I’m lying to her.
I think she knows,
I think she sees it in my eyes.
I know she’ll never ask,
I’ll never tell.
I promised I’d be better,
I’m just like him.
I’d understand if she hated me,
I’d hate me too.
I never meant to be this way,
I can’t stop.
If I can just run far enough away,
We can both pretend it never happened.
I think she’d run after me though,
I won’t run very fast.
I hope she knows I don’t mean to hurt her,
When I slowly fade away.
