but those who profess to be christian can be
divided between those who lean towards
the new testament and those who prefer the
old testament don't appear to be christian at all

I've read it from cover-to-cover at least half a dozen times and there is some beauty and wisdom contained within, particularly the book of Ecclesiastes; however, there are also omitted chapters that would've empowered women and shed entire truths as well as flat out revised vs translated verses for purposes of dominance and control.
Sad many don't read it at all, but rely on others who profess to have.
