do-mi-no effects

“Hope can be imagined as a domino effect, a chain reaction, each
increment making the next increase more feasible.…There are
moments of fear and doubt that can deflate it.”—Jerome Groopman

do mi no harm:
my dots are all connected.
when, from your charm,
blunt reason has defected,
who, then, shall fix
the jigsaw of its trouble?
my double-six
shall burst your fretful bubble.

do mi no hate:
one seed can choke a forest
and not abate,
because strife thrives on incest.
they are consumed,
who cherish spite for others;
yet, love, full-bloomed,
makes wretched men luxe brothers.

do mi no death:
whence all bone chips have fallen,
heaves forth no breath,
although his chest be swollen.
do mi no life
sentence; kiss but hope’s vision:
no bloody knife
shall interdict love’s mission.

Author's Note
Every action, good or bad, carries its own consequences in life.  "domino effects" places double-entendres on the phrases, "do mi (me) no harm," "do mi no hate," "do mi no death," "do mi no life sentence." Ill-fated consequences could include domino harm, domino hate, domino death, and domino life sentence.
