vampire greed

your notes wash over my body
tenderly addressing my pain
keening in the background I need you
you've always been with me
bringing me the distraction I desired

your beautiful mind never let on
you watched me closely because I was different
you never let me know I was odd
with jokes, no one else could hear we would laugh
it wasn't till you had no choice
you discussed the difference

there are others like me
but I've yet to meet them
I was set aside for your pleasure

if you will answer this one thing
why are the other darklings growing at such a fast rate
while I in the immortal realm am growing very slowly
I wish to evolve into the woman I am meant to be

the awfulings say Grandfather stinted my growth because I bit him
well the snobby rich vampires aren't my problem
I've been busy, I bit the moon buttons, and now they are stinted at age 5
and I bit some up-and-comers in show business

so they can get rich
I hope the nine houses survive my tirade
they are complicit in their greed
and needed to be shaken up
