Replacement Window

Consider a replacement window
where the shadows come in
bringing in the darkness
and sitting in my chair
cattywampus to a prayer
wearing mittens to warm the air
as if phantoms posed in silence
dragging bones from I know not where
whispering acapella to their host
cattywampus to a prayer
