Slivers

Sale the soul
that shared the depth.
Squeeze it dry 'til nothing's left.

Break the fierce dichotomy
empty it again.
It's filled with false pretense.

Full of something
I don't know.
The constant sound is thumping.

In my mind obsessively
thoughts that cannot mend.
Acting out tempestuously.
Waves of sound are bumping.

Hear the flap
of flightless wings....
if mute you cannot sing.
Crying out with silent screams
to the table lifeless bring.

Like paralyzed by hidden hands
that creep up in the dark
They know that they have hit their mark.
They take a grisly stand.

Hit the pupil in the center
my soul is chilled like winter.
Blink the eyes so full of tears.
Or are they really splinters?
