The threat of war
The threat was still there, Emil knew from the past it wasn`t going to get easier.
He headed up to the look out post ,in the main tower ,
From this spot he could see it all ,the city and countryside, his view unheaed.
There just on the hersion, he could see them all ,as they sat in there soiled rainments.
The enemy dressed in their regalia, battle standereds unflured .
Their mounts stand ready with their forces counted for.
Their leader a young upstart gaul, pranceed about giving orders to them.
As Emil look on, his own captian `s voice boomed in his ear ,
"Emil didn`t i order you to the amory .now off with you boy ."
With a hurried step off he went down the gray marbled stairs to his post to asist the gaurd
There his father the Viser Demorte Dracul of the royal dragoons waited his only son his only child.
The enemy the various crusading groups, are ready to advance together from north.
They are accompanied at this stage by a Byzantine army, for the first task is to clear a route through Anatolia - recently seized from the Byzantines by the Seljuk Turks.
The immediate target, close to hand, is the Seljuk capital in the heavily fortified Byzantine town of Nicaea.
His home Nicaea had been over ran time and time again by many a advancing hord .
This was no differant then before he thought .
Again they will drive them back into the sea..
The trouble in constanople with the turks.
And the normans invading the shores to the south, profoundly upset the young king Hardestat
But with his advisors and brave knights all would not be lost,
Emil knew this ,as he took to his post maning the stores of arms for them all .
The city readied for what was to come.
War had reached their very door,
Now it gapping mouth set on devoring them young and old alike.
Warriors stood to hear their king their choisen leader a mer lad of fifteen.
"Donot let them take our city ,our homes ,our women .
Defend the to the last man HEAR me all"stated the young king.
"By god grace my lord ,we will be victorious " said hagart his viser"
Emil noded as his father uttered thoses words ,standing proudly ,with his had cletching a sword of the Dragon`s hord.
