When We Die
it doesn't matter what we think
or to what belief we are linked
when crossing over, when we die
all is one, away we fly
into a neverending place
full of love, compassion laced
the end of life on Earth again
is like the joy of summer rain -
decisions that we made now fade
emerging from the living shade
of what we thought was very real
as religion loses its appeal
in the certainty we know
there's only one way we must go
towards the silver liquid light
the end of sorrow now in sight -
the consciousness we still retain
beyond suffering, beyond pain
is filled with ecstasy and bliss
ego leaves, it is not missed
it doesn't matter as we're judged
by ourselves, bad choices fudged
unless our fate is to return
to live another life to learn....
or to what belief we are linked
when crossing over, when we die
all is one, away we fly
into a neverending place
full of love, compassion laced
the end of life on Earth again
is like the joy of summer rain -
decisions that we made now fade
emerging from the living shade
of what we thought was very real
as religion loses its appeal
