i am

i am a moth
for i am drawn to the light
she sends out,
cherishing her presence every time

i am the ocean,
for you can see it in my eyes
ever-flowing, ebbing and flooding
i have the power to drown you
and can lead you to beautiful destinies
depending on my mood

i am love,
for i adore people,
their passions and longings
i treasure my folks

i once was a caterpillar
for i always desire to change, to grow
needed the dark, being isolated
in order to become who i am today
i now am a butterfly

i am fall,
for i love darkness, love the rain
since i know that everything is evanescent
and will grow back in brightest colors later
everything needs rest, and i need it too
i can finally accept that.
