Love and Lust

There was someone out there impersonating me
That is impossible there is only one me
I am told there are trinkets and bouquets of all kinds
left at her feet as she bends the will of all she leaves behind

There are songs in sweet melody
There are sonnets “will you come to me?”
There are hearts that bleed open just for one touch
I do not care for any of this much

They say her name is love
I'm telling you that is not me
I am lust
I am free

I do not require flowers or trinkets for affection
What I require is to bring out every single imperfection
She is the day and I am the night
what we do will make the innocent take flight

When I walk on by
I want you on your knees
I want your mouth hanging open
I want you to hardly breathe

That pounding in your heart you feel
Is not of it breaking
It's my darkness swirling around
It is mine for the taking

See she is sweet and I am tart
There are times we both can claim your heart
So do you know the difference now?
It's plain to see
She is love
And I am me.
