Songs About You

Just one more time
Before I close my eyes
My knees are tired and heavy
For I am on my last legs
Scowering for a peace of mind
But the painting don't seem alright
The walls start caving in , the skylights smoggy
Murky shades clouds my judgement
Too mortally wounded for a young soul
Hopelessly irretrievably in love
So do away with your broken spirit
Your written songs cannot mask your pride.
Your attempts are vaguely ambitious
There are no positives to take from your life
Do away with thy illusive dreams
For you are walking on eggshells
You are nothing but a dog,
Picking off after bones
But having less on my plate ,
Don't make me any less of a man
I dismiss that opinion,
With that fiery look in her eyes
I'm in the know
I've made my peace
It's hard to say ,
But you do not know what love is
If you don't bleed tears over these sheets
You don't know what love is
If you don't make the compromise
You don't know what love is
If you don't make the time
Yet you claim you know what love is
But you haven't seen such a thing in your life
I'd be a fool just this once
