Wonderful You, NOT

There is a feeling
That can’t be ignored
It seems joy gets shut at the door

A lingering pain
Likened to a mass
That’s steady in its growth
It brings both serenity and sadness

There is a life I wish to pursue
Even without wonderful you
Always with a measuring stick
The epitome of selfishness

Those precious creatures
In the wilderness
Show me the true beauty of nature
And survival
In the most vulnerable moments

They give me hope of another day
Through hard times
And times of dismay

I am further strengthened by those
Exhibiting integrity, selflessness and
Random acts of kindness
In the face of you, who prefers to
Standby without any humility
Or change of heart

The gas lighting only reinforced
Who you truly are…
No more benefit of doubt from me
I have a clear vision of where I need to be
My emotional attachment, soon to be free
