My Black Woman
My Black Woman
My black woman...
Ain't she something!
Yes she is indeed
When a brother needs someone to watch his back she fulfills the need
You can find her at the front of the movement
Cause she ain't waiting on anybody else to do it
She follows if need be
but
If the time arises then she's prepared to lead
Cause if baby daddy decides to up and leave
Who else gon take care of them babies she gotta feed
Her grind don't stop when she hits struggle
That's when she turns up her hustle
Cause lord knows it's hard being a single mother
Gotta send the kids off to school and get ready for another double
But yet she never complains
Even with the weight of the world on her back she maintains
It's crazy how she can even stay sane
My black woman...
Ain't she something!
Mmmhmm yes lord
Her beauty is captivating
The older she gets the less she ages
They say black don't crack and I'm in amazement
She comes in different shades of color
Each one just as beautiful as the other
She's like a fine wine
She gets better with time
And I just wanna sip from the cup
Matter fact a sip ain't enough
Her spirit is graceful
Her walk is strong
You can always hear her say she can do it on her own
She's like that drug that you can't leave alone
Ladies shall I carry on?
My black woman...
Ain't she something
You know she is
Even during slavery and oppression
She didn't stop in the face of transgression
Even when master snuck into the quarters at night
She somehow managed to shine her light
Her husband was beaten and taken away from her
They tried breaking her
But she stands tall in the face of adversity
Ain't no shaking her
You go girl
Show the world what you can do
She can conquer the earth and take care of her family too
My black woman...
Ain't she something
