Invasive darlings

dandelions
tangled amidst the fescues
their roots tethered deep in the soils
sipping on the ruins of those before them
Flamboyant sociopaths
whittling away at the worth of our grasses
Charming the iris
to devalue the emerald carpet
lain at their feet
Putrid incense
collecting our breath as we dine on their musk
Attractive hues
bewitching the winged children
to feast on the tonic
spreading life whilst maintaining a ruse
Delicate dances
are the winds that part the glade
to wick the sun to their petals
injecting vigour through their stems
to bulk their foundations
Invasive darlings
scarring the hands that tickle the blossom
to encourage the seeds
to flit to our gardens
and spoil the swank of our roses
