don't let go
Your fingers letting go of mine
feels like the worst kind of nostalgia
setting off the pleasure and pain
sensors in my brain
And I used to thrive
on the misery of craving
of the drama in your words
the almost confessions
and the idea that you
could somehow someday
be mine
But I know better now
than to chase a broken heart
and I'm not looking to break
myself again
chasing lonely-hearted dreams
Your fingers letting go of mine
feels like the worst kind of nostalgia
and I hate that I love the pain
feels like the worst kind of nostalgia
setting off the pleasure and pain
sensors in my brain
And I used to thrive
on the misery of craving
of the drama in your words
the almost confessions
and the idea that you
could somehow someday
be mine
But I know better now
than to chase a broken heart
and I'm not looking to break
myself again
chasing lonely-hearted dreams
Your fingers letting go of mine
feels like the worst kind of nostalgia
and I hate that I love the pain
