Too Much

Is what I said too much?
Did I respond too much?
Am I clinging too much?  
Is just being too much.?
 
How much is too much?
If I gave you the mile when you wanted an inch
If I gave you a smile when you wanted a grin
I talked you to death when you only wanted a peak in
I bought you a cake when you just wanted the cherry with the stem
 
I cannot figure out all these in’s when you want out
Or you want out when I let you too far in
 
Sinking in quicksand
Slower than water
Needing water
Can’t go any further
