?Poetry?

I sometimes feel the same way about sharing my dark poems. However, just remember that you can only do so much.

Keep sharing that poetry and keep on writing. I know i will for sure!

I know you have a lot going on and that alone can make poetry seem much less important in the list of prioroties. Inspiration can be elusive as well, so when they combine, there just isn't time to write or feel like writing, but if you can use these emotions to help you create, they can also help you get through the hard times while making you a better poet. My dark poems from my late teens and early twenties saved my life a few times when all I wanted was to die. And I think I came out the other end of it all a better poet who felt like a real poet for having found a way to express my deepest emotions. You don't have to publish everything your write, God knows that I have left most of those old poems in a folder that the rest of the world will never see. I have them still, and every now and then I pull out the old folder to read them and remember. Some of them are so bad I think about burning them just so no one will ever find them after I'm dead.
As far as poetry web sites go, this one is not much different than any other I have been on. Something to consider when you get fed up with comments, or the lack there of, is that everyone else if going through this stuff too. One of the reasons why poets write is to get out the harder emotions that don't come out in every day life, the things we have a hard time telling our friends or family. Poems can be there to expose our deepest feelings to the one person that wants to hear about them the least, ourself. And the one person who needs to listen is the one inside, pretending to be someone we are not, wishing we weren't the one we are. How many times have you heard of people who give great advice but never take their own? I do it and so does everyone else. Sometimes when I read my poems, I realize things that I had been denying but I was writing about them they they weren't me. I have several poems that come across as scaithing rants agaist some dumbass, but are really introspective poems in disguise.
Take a break from the site if you must, but I think you should leave your poems here. I know others who have deleted them and then regretted it after they had a chance to let it all go for a while. They didn't save them and then wanted them back.
No matter what you decide, I hope you will always keep writing poems, even if you never publish another one on line and i hope you will keep in touch somehow. jj

especially considering that I have ADD and my attention span is about as Just getting my attention is noteworthy, but you are interesting and I like your poems. jj

lol, something got deleted in the middle of that post but now I cant remember what it was... well, couldn't have been very important or I wouldnt have forgotten it, lol, boot to the head...
