From Dark To Dim

I think its pretty clear from my writes
The dark subject matter
That I was in a really bad place when I found DU

I needed an outlet badly
I needed to know that I wasnt alone

I was wallowing in self loathing
Death seemed like the only relief possible

In a little under 2 months this place has become quite a boon to me
Seeing others show support and share how they relate has been so therapeutic

My blunt nature and direct approach got me into some trouble
I briefly walked away because I questioned if I belonged here
There are some that stepped up and assured me that I have a place here

Im nowhere near 100%
But im 100% better than where I was

Thank you to those that have welcomed me and embraced me
You just may have saved a life, whether you know it or not

There are a few that I'd like to give special recognition to
Those that have really helped to create the sparks of a new mindset

Poetry has always been an outlet to release some of the pressure from the darkness
I have found it increasingly hard to write lately and that is a good thing in my eyes

Really lifts the spirits
Always good for a joke or light hearted back and forth
