Keep Swimming

Watching her go through this journey
Seeing the strength she has even at her young age

I feel honored to even be a small part of the growth
Im amazed at how she has managed to keep her kindness

She can turn to the darkness understandably
Yet she loves and cares for others
Even in the absence of feeling it herself at times

She reminds me of my daughters and I don't want her to feel alone
She reminds me of myself and how much I wanted my dad to love me

I know she has so much to offer this world
I can't sit by idle and watch her struggle

She's determined and I know she will be successful in anything she chooses
All she needs is a reminder and a nudge every once in a while

If she dips below the surface Ill happily grab her hand and help her tread water
