the smaller the size, the greater the king

stray black and white
cat walked across the
street a car length
ahead of me

the creature neither
looked left
or right

his steps were slow

brave

measured

each one a pronouncement
of his royalty

the car in front of me
stopped to let him
pass

to keep ones courage
and wits without fear
when facing down a ton
of steel on four tires

the greatest of
nobility

he took off into a wooded
area to, no doubt, do
battle with mice and
other vermin
foe

to save his feline
kingdom

God save the King!
