Love on Fire
In the burning heart, love blooms,
a flame that consumes and grows.
Like a wild fire it dances and consumes.
It devours everything in its fragrance.
The heat is relentless, unrestrained.
Every touch, every kiss, a spark,
And love turns into a flame.
The words we exchanged are incandescent
they burn like embers, fiery and persistent.
The fire consumes, without mercy, burning us.
The love that was sweet is now hell.
The flames swallowing what was eternal.
Our hearts now fall apart
and the fire, which united, now tears apart.
On the shores of time, longing wanders,
a silent echo, a persistent memory.
The unspoken words, the ungiven hugs,
everything turns into worn out dreams.
The love that is gone, like a boat adrift,
leaving deep marks, captive memories.
The nights are long, the sheets are empty,
where there used to be heat, now there is cold.
The yellowed photographs, smiling faces,
They keep secrets, stories, moments.
Longing is a river that flows relentlessly and
takes with it pieces of the soul in pain.
The places we visited, the smells, the flavors,
everything mixes in the foam of love verses.
And so, between tears and sighs, I write
verses that echo the longing
and that don't leave me unharmed.
Love, like an uncontrolled bonfire,
devours everything, until the last spark goes out.
And in the silence of the ashes only memories.
Love that burned so brightly
but now it does not sing its glories.
