DAYDREAMING

Wide awake but still chasing dreams
Yet life seems to happen in between
With a keen sense of direction & focus
I lean on my magic like it's hocus-pocus

I won't just allow for it to dry, wither & die
Even with clipped wings, I keep trying to fly
Flying high above life's frozen, barren fields
Vast plantations where dreams are habitually killed

Filled with unfulfilled or deferred aspirations
Where equations equate to actions of desperation
Adding up to expirations or recidivous incarcerations
As the mastication of motivation grows like wild vegetation

Indigestion and constipation typically being the outcome
Fat cat aristocrats' consumptions increasing the total sum
Rum pum pum pum is the sound of the drum declaring war
Overtime scores requiring more and more calamitous encores

War is a racket that increases the profits of corporations
While they divert our attention with tools of deception
Compute your own calculations and dream while the Sun's in the sky
Whether caged or enraged, flap your wings and continue to fly
