Mom
I dont blame you for what happened
I know you tried your best
Fighting with your own demons
Set forth upon a quest
To find the love you never knew
So desparate you became
Yet every man you came across
Turned out to be the same
A little girl grew up too fast
You didn't have a choice
The very man that gave you life
Also stole your voice
So many times I wished that I
Could take that pain away
Lead you to that which you seek
Make everything OK
I understand your demons
I walk with them too
I forgive you
I love you
I know you tried your best
Fighting with your own demons
Set forth upon a quest
To find the love you never knew
So desparate you became
Yet every man you came across
Turned out to be the same
A little girl grew up too fast
You didn't have a choice
The very man that gave you life
Also stole your voice
So many times I wished that I
Could take that pain away
Lead you to that which you seek
Make everything OK
I understand your demons
I walk with them too
I forgive you
I love you

Phenomenal. This is an amazing poem. Captures so much pain, love & it's raw. Nice job!

A really powerful piece. It's amazing how trauma can follow us without us noticing it's there, unintentionally passed on from one family member to another. Acceptance and forgiveness are a tricky thing, and can take a long time. I'm glad you found them.

Yea. Its that fucking cycle that we must try so hard to break. I carry so much weight with me. Unloading some of that where possible is a necessity.
Thanks for reading Indie and your words.

Amazing how a child always wants to help to make things better. This brought a tear to my eye. Very well written. Darkness. Fia xoxo

Wow, this so sweet.
Having these thoughts for your mother is amazing.
I hope she's alright, and you too.
It's so heartbreaking to see a young child in pain from watching their mom being torn apart.
Sending warm wishes.
