Where Past and Future Collide
I was Born where Romans left great vestiges, and stones
Where mighty Ottoman conquerors swayed on vast shores
And, where Ulemas and Good Samaritans, are venerated
And, i live where bishop St.Augustine left sacred bones
*******
And The littoral expands wide, over 745.6427 miles
With pearly shores, the translucent golden sands
Whereon the tides play kiss and leave with ivory foams
Into the blue deep, hued with emerald, and indigo waves
******
The deep interior harbors Megalopolis, history cities
Bustling with a varied ethnics, capitalized with Algiers
The focal bright point, into which the small rivers converge
Where Maqam Echahid, a grand historical landmark emerges
******
And far-off from the focus, from the busy towns and the noises
From the asphalt reeking roads, and the neon traffic lights
And coastwise travelling, easward heading, there are hilly plains
Rocky, and rugged mountains extend wide, encrusted with oaks
full of pine fruits, where wolves and fine fauna quietly lurks
******
And where the silence dwells and the forests chant with rhymes
Where the herds' bells, and the birds' songs, a tune of chimes
The nimble birds wake up early, and awaken the dormant roosters
And speak in poetic songs, to the spirit that haunts the places
******
Inspired and fully engaged in nature's poetic celebrations
Books of Natural words lie open, and speak of Beauty and peace
Speak of the wild that is sage and spills his own poetic diction
Unbridled, headlong, unlimited, until the Muse is Released
