Here, then, come the long days, light, love, raving
Here is Spring ! march, April softly smiling
May blooming, June burning, the good months mate
the poplars, on the river banks, in dormant state,
Being like some olden palm trees, flabbily bending,
The bird, in deep woods, tepid and calm, the wings beating
It seems all in cheers, and that the green trees
Are happy together, and speak in poetic breeze
The day rising crowned with dawn, fresh and tender
The evening full of love, when at night, a thing to ponder
Across the vast shadow and beneath the blessed sight
Some happy thing gone singing through the infinite
"" Victor Hugo, Toute la lyre ""
Translated from French Romantic Poet ''Victor Hugo''
I hope i did not offend any poet by this attempt, and have given a few regard
and respect to those eternal pillars of Romantic Poetry*
