snow days

The snow doesn't taste
like I thought it would
it's cold and sweet and lonely

The fire barely strips away the chill
and I miss the feel of air
on my naked skin

Though not as much as I miss
the fire of your touch
that rages like an inferno in the dark
that exists now, only to find in my dreams

Some days I pray for summer
but mostly I pray for you
and the way you body
takes the cold from my heart
and turns it into something beautiful
