Jennifer's love

I saw him today.
Your true love in life.
Lost on his way.
Missing his wife.

His language of pain.
Silently screams.
His eyes are more grey.
Coping with grief.

He brought to me.
A pain I've denied.
This pain I need.
To let it pass by.

Still, my heart breaks.
As part of him dies.
Alone and displaces.
Without you beside.

But hope, I saw too.
When grief gave way.
A moment or two.
Laughing, dismay.

I saw him today.
The one you love best.
I smile and I wave.
Seeing how you are blessed.

I met most my friends in first grade. Jennifer passed away suddenly a few months ago. Her husband came to visit me the other day.
