Bumped Into
It’s been years
How you doing? How you been?
Do you still catch up with the guys from way back when?
Are you married? Kids?
Got yourself a girl?
Have you finally met the one that you get to call your world?
I’m fine, thanks for asking
No no really I’m just great
But is it normal to wish I could plan my final day?
Would you show up? Cry?
Would you even care?
That I spend my whole life wishing you were there?
I’m sorry, I’ll stop
I know you haven’t got all day
Yet I keep wishing I’ll finally hear you say:
“I love you. Don’t go
You were the only one for me.”
I’m sorry I wasn’t who you needed me to be.
At least we have the memories
All the laughs, the jokes, the fun
I hope to cross your mind just once, now that I’m good as gone.
