REFLECTION       (mid 1990's, Galveston Island, Texas)

look broadly at the big mirror
see the big picture reflected there
do you see and feel only darkness and fear
or do you feel and see love
joy  hope  beauty and wonder
looking back out at you instead
quick
look around
and behind the big mirror again
do you still see love
at some point the big mirror will break
shattering into a thousand other
individually reflective pieces
where you will still see and be left
with only yourself and the big picture
in your mind and quickened senses
and hopefully love
joy  hope  beauty and wonder
will still be there in tact
but whether it will be or not
eventually you will find out
one way or another
depending on whether
you are gravity defiant
or gravity defined
and no matter whether you choose
to deny it
accept it
but keep it a secret
or choose to use it
to correct or change
your course in and throughout your life
at least in your heart
sooner or later
you will eventually  inevitably find out
to a point of much deeper
self realization
in which and wherein
you will surely come
to see  know
and finally more fully come to realize
that which has always
been innately long hidden
and known
soul deep inside you
inside of us all
all along
