Records
God placed my life on his record player
He gently put the needle down
So I could live my song
My music started
As I breathed in life
At first each year around the record player
Seemed slow and took forever
The music was soft and light
It was easy on the ears and enjoyable
Life was fun
And I was full of innocence
As I got older each rotation seemed faster
My speed changed in a heartbeat
The years were a blur
The music got louder as I got more reckless
My music made no sense and had no meaning
I didn't understand it
Sometimes I swear my song skipped
Maybe it was dejavu
I don't know
As my song got louder and more intense
I made some questionable decisions
But my song kept playing
Now my song is further along
My speed has slowed down
The music again has softened
And my tone has changed
I've learned to appreciate life
And appreciate the chaos earlier in my song
The chaos that helped my song become better
Even though I've slowed down
Each rotation seems faster and faster
I don't know when my song ends
But my music is still playing
I've been fortunate to have my song
Play with other songs
Simultaneously
A beautiful melody was created
I hope this music lasts forever
But I know my song will end
All songs end
Hopefully though my music impacts people
Or a person
Someone
Anyone
Their hearts their souls their minds
Because if our songs can move people
And everybody shares their music
We can live in this amazing world together
The way God intended
With his collection of records
A beautiful symphony
He gently put the needle down
So I could live my song
My music started
